What are the best Minecraft seeds for version 1.21?
Seeds are codes that Minecraft uses to generate worlds. With the right seed, you can live out all your fantasies in this amazing game, such as easily accessible strongholds for speedrunning, stunning landscapes for building, or rare structures to loot. Given the infinite nature of seeds in Minecraft, we scoured the internet and tested our own codes to find the coolest and most sought-after seeds.
You can leave your world's generation completely in the hands of fate, but if you're unlucky, you may end up spending hours searching for a village, an ancient city, desert temples, or anything else you want to experience in the game. To save you from wasting time exploring a bad seed, keep reading our huge list with 35 cool seeds, or use the handy quick links to find the exact experience you're looking for. Unless otherwise indicated, these seeds work for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21, the latest version of the game, so make sure your Minecraft is set to version 1.21 before entering the game, otherwise you may get different results. You can also use these seeds on Bedrock Edition thanks to parity, but some structures may be different.

Ancient City Fortress
Ancient City, Challenge Chamber, fortress seed:1669984371247603308
Version:1.21
Coordinates:
- Ancient City: 8,920, -51, 6,648
- Challenge Chamber: 8,951, 6,631
- Fortress: 8,676, 6,756
This amazing 1.21 seed brings together the three rarest and most valuable overworld structures in one place: an Ancient City, a Challenge Chamber, and even a Fortress. As you can see in the image above, the Ancient City and the Challenge Chamber are neighbors. What you can't see is the Fortress just 300 blocks behind you, to the northwest. After gearing up with your best armor and being ready to face the Ender Dragon, you can kill two birds with one stone — or explore three structures in a single adventure.

Challenge Chamber Seed
Challenge Chamber seed:393235010621814182
Version:1.21
Coordinates:
- Village: 176, 64
- Challenge Chamber: 16, 160
For your first days in the Minecraft 1.21 update, this seed offers a great starting point, with a village and a Challenge Chamber nearby. There's hardly a better way in Minecraft 1.21 to obtain valuable materials early, and the best part is that you can access this underground chamber with almost no tools. Go to the village at coordinates x = 176, z = 64 to stock up on wood and other materials safely before heading to the huge cave entrance to the southwest. Use the waterfalls there to descend safely into the cave, where you'll see a wall of bricks at the back — this is the Challenge Chamber. Use a pickaxe to break the wall and face the new challenge.
Of course, since you're entering a cave (and a dangerous Challenge Chamber), we recommend bringing some tools and weapons with you, but there are so many loot drops inside the walls of the Challenge Chamber that you won't need a lot. Just watch out for mob spawners and the new mob, called Vortex or Breeze.

Forge Mold Seed
Forge Mold seed: -3700836276160199646
Coordinates:
- Advanced Outpost: -192, 80
- Ruined Portal: -328, 120
- Village: -496, 176
- Nether Fortress: 27, 27
- Bastion Treasure Room: 288, -160
The smithing templates arrived with the 1.20 update, allowing you to display a unique style while facing monsters and mining precious ores. However, obtaining these smithing templates isn't an easy task – most are looted from well-protected chests in dangerous locations.
If you don't want to wander too far from your base, or even from the spawn point, to find some of the harder smithing templates to find, this seed makes things easier and still offers a lot more. Just a short walk to the southwest, you will find an Advanced Outpost on an island – the island's advantage is that it makes this outpost much safer, as raiders have difficulty crossing water. Here, you can grab two Sentinel smithing templates and rescue some Allays from Minecraft.
Visible from here is a completable Ruined Portal – only one block remains, which can be found in the nearby chest. And, from here, you can see a village. This is almost everything you need to prepare for your first night and be ready for a trip to the Nether, where you can find a Nether Fortress just 20 blocks to the east. There, you can find the Rib Cage smithing Template. Finally, if you need any more reason to use this seed, there is a Bastion Treasure Room to the northeast, where you can find the Rib Cage Smithing Templates and Netherite Upgrade. Seed found byshady_bookworm on Reddit.

Seed of the Stunning Cove
Stunning Cove seed: 11297487
Coordinates:
- Cove: 83, 23
- Ruined Portal: 68, 138
- Village: 224, 576
This majestic cove features floating landmasses, several waterfalls, and even a floating Ruined Portal in the center of the water below. This location gives us so many ideas for stunning builds that we don't even know where to start – but the first step is definitely to load our next new world here. What makes this even better is that you don't need to go far to find it, as this cove is located right at spawn. We thank the user sevenhundredmiles on Reddit for finding this treasure.

Seed of the Swamp Village
Swamp Village Seed: -2295595817529477063
Important Coordinates:
- Swamp Village: 704, 672
This is really a great seed. If you don't know, swamp and jungle villages do not generate naturally in Minecraft, but they have their own unique villager trades. This may seem unfair, but these villagers can be forced to appear, provided they are 'born' in these biomes, for example via a villagers farm. This usually means you need to be lucky enough to find their 'parents' near one of these biomes, or transport them via Nether portal, boat, minecart, or a combination of the three.
On this rare seed, however, a normal taiga village ends up generating on the edge of the biome, overlapping a swamp. This not only makes it easier to set up a swamp villager farm, but also means swamp villagers, with their unique appearance, can even appear naturally, making this a very practical seed. We thank Nt0splat on Reddit for finding it.

Skull Island Seed
Skull Island Seed: 1040934860
Important Coordinates:
- Village: -160, -144
This incredibly cool discovery was made by DPS3 on Reddit , and it features a large skull-shaped island — even with a small nose opening. What makes this even better is that the Skull Island hosts a beautiful lush cave in Minecraft, which is pretty and has some rare loot.
Not enough to convince you yet? Well, how about the fact that you spawn directly on top of this cool seed — in a huge desert village. Oh, and there’s an underground mine. You can get basically everything you need for an easy start to your survival adventure here on Skull Island.

Easy Nether Seed
Nether Seed: 4517475607999363428
Important Coordinates:
- Fortress: 13, 27
- Bastion: 25, -119
Nothing in the Nether is really easy, but this seed certainly prepares you for success. When starting this world, found by PainterAccording on Reddit, you spawn on a small island, which itself houses some vital resources such as coal, iron, and gravel. Place a Nether Portal on this island, and you will find yourself directly inside (or near) a Nether Fortress. And that's not all, there's also a Bastion located just 100 blocks to the north. Just make sure you're equipped with gold, armor, and other essential items before you try to venture into the underworld.

Shipwreck Survival Seed
Shipwreck Seed: -8065848147699287859
Important Coordinates:
- Spawn Point: 64, -544
Thanks to Jmims1983 on Reddit for finding this challenging Minecraft survival seed in version 1.20, in which you actually spawn on the mast of a shipwreck, with no land in sight.
Carefully go underwater to loot the shipwreck chests and grab whatever you can – which, fortunately, includes some iron – grab some wood from the wreck to make a boat and see how far you can go.

Trail Ruins at Spawn Point
Trail Ruins Seed at Spawn Point: -78281593317120339
Important Coordinates:
- Trail Ruins: -152, 72
- Village: -272, 272
Trail Ruins are all that remain of the ancient Minecraft civilizations and villages from a long-forgotten era. Added in the 1.20 Trails & Tales update, these often-buried structures house many valuable loot and even Minecraft archaeology, giving you the chance to excavate suspicious blocks to reveal the secrets hidden inside them. Perhaps the most fun part is simply digging the area itself, discovering how big the village was — who knows you might even take on the task of rebuilding it?
This Trail Ruins seed is perfect for any aspiring archaeologist, as the ruins seen above are a few blocks from the spawn point, and the bright terracotta blocks on top can be seen without any digging. What is even better, however, is the nearby village at x = -272, z = 272, giving you a place to call home while you work, and to safely store all artifacts you discover. There is even an underground mine here as well, if you are brave enough to face the dangers in exchange for even more valuable loot.

Savanna Village Seed
Savanna Village Seed:-2078000429
Important Coordinates:
- Village: 80, 50
If Savanna is your favorite biome, look no further than this great savanna village seed, which spawns you right beside a large savanna village, floating in a river valley between large savanna cliffs. This is a great survival seed, not only because of the materials you can collect in the village, but also thanks to the surrounding cave entrances, making resource gathering and safely returning home with your fellow villagers easier.

Minecraft Seed for Building
Minecraft Seed for Building:-3899835130120818196
Important Coordinates:
- Village: -144, -144
For a seed that offers building and survival locations right at spawn, we’ve got the solution. This perfect seed spawns you very close to a plains village, where you can grab plenty of materials to get started. However, the true draw of this seed is the surrounding plains, which offer perfect plateaus for building. This plains biome is bordered by small cherry tree biomes, forests, and even jungle, allowing you to collect most types of wood without straying too far from your base.

Seed of Eight Ancient Cities
Eight Ancient Cities Seed:-3227758055243832981
Important Coordinates:
- 1: x = -2,520, y = -616
- 2: x = -1,848, y = -600
- 3: x = -2,088, y = -184
- 4: x = -2,264, y = 104
- 5: x = -2,440, y = 40
- 6: x = -1,864, y = 408
- 7: x = -2,296, y = -488
- 8: x = -2,440, y = 424
No, we’re not kidding. We were actually looking for a Trail Ruins seed when we found this incredible discovery. We’re not sure why anyone would want to put themselves through the incredible pain of looting even an Ancient City (perhaps we’ve been killed by the Warden many times), but this is the Minecraft community – is there anyone who wants to visiteightadjacent cities.
Found this seed using Chunk Base, and, as you can see in the image above, there are eight Ancient Cities all within a square of 1,000 blocks. Given how large the Ancient Cities are, trust us when we say there isn't much distance between them. In fact, we went to take a look in spectator mode, and that four-block cluster in the bottom-left corner is basically on top of one another. Traveling between those northern cities at least gives you a little room to breathe from the Wardens.
If that sounds like too much for you, there's a seed further down with only two Ancient Cities combined, but there was no way not to add this to the list of Minecraft's best seeds right now.

Mega Ancient City
Mega Ancient City Seed:111111111111111111 (there are 18 ones!)
Important Coordinates:
- Village: 0, -464
- Mine: -203, -26, -653
- First Ancient City: -210, -52, -700
We're calling this a 'Mega Ancient City', but know that there is some space between some of them, so you may find it a little deceptive. That said, there is no denying that 26 Ancient Cities within a 5,000-block radius is something spectacular, especially considering the size of each individual structure. To put it in context, it takes about three to four minutes to walk 1,000 blocks, so this offers an incredible underground adventure in an afternoon of gameplay and looting.
What makes this seed, found on Reddit, even better is that these underground structures start right near the spawn point, and there's a picturesque snowy village on the way to the first one. Stop here, make yourself at home, and get ready for your adventure, then head down toward -210, -700 to begin your Ancient City exploration. Head west, and most of the cities lie in a straight line.

Speedrun Seed
Speedrun Seed:7499203634667178692
Important Coordinates:
- Fortress: 38, -485
If you want to test your speedrunning skills, this is the random seed used by the current speedrun record holder, Zylenox. It may not look the best with those fortress coordinates above, but we strongly recommend taking a look at thethe raw recording of Zylenox's speedrunto see how it's done by the best, and practice on the seed itself. Warning, it's not nothing easy.

Seed of the Ancient City in the Cherry Blossom Forest
Ancient City Seed in the Cherry Blossom Forest:2419912010728942704
Important Coordinates:
- Ancient Cities: 94 , -36, 265
- Cherry Blossom Forest: 65, -31
This is quite an incredible discovery, if we may say so. Finding an Ancient Cityin Minecraftin Survival mode is hard enough, finding two side by side is another thing. And are these two almost directly below the spawn point? And an enormous Cherry Blossom Forest biome? Yes and yes.
When you are left at the spawn point at x = 16, z = -16, you are immediately greeted by the sight of a Cherry Forest biome to the south and east, surrounding some snowy slopes. Go to the southeast underground of the spawn point to find a gigantic Ancient City at x = 96, z = 73. Follow this underground structure directly south until you find a lava fall to find the start of another Ancient City. Just be careful with the Wardens. The coordinates we listed above place you right between the two cities.

Minecraft Scenic Seed for 1.20
Beautiful Frozen Seed 1.20: 7050622155736149866
Important Coordinates:
- Observation Point: 93, 2,655
- Cherry Forest: -694, 2,846
This seed was originally found by Redditor Hanazeri in version 1.19, and the magnificent frozen landscape in the image above still remains in the 1.20 update. What makes this even better after the Trails and Tales update is the addition of a Cherry Forest biome right next to one of the snowy mountains. The observation point above can be found at the coordinates x=93, z=2,655, while the combination of snowy mountain and cherry can be found at a *cough* short *cough* walk along the x-axis to x=-694, z=2,846.
There is no color combination more beautiful than pink and white, right? So grab some pink saplings and petals from the Cherry Forest, return to the beautiful building terrain above and transform that circular clearing into a snowy pink paradise.

Cherry Forest Seed
Seed of the Perfect Ring of Cherry Blossom Flowers: 1691256543523180978
Important Coordinates:
- Village: 11,980, 1,400
If you love the seed above, but want something a little less... cold, then this perfect pink paradise could be the ideal place to build your next home – and it could be one of the most amazing discoveries we've seen in Minecraft. We thank the Redditor Shoowa for this one , which on the surface is a dazzling ring of cherry blossoms around a lovely lake, and in turn, surrounded by a circular river. That alone is enough to make this an incredible discovery – imagine a cute cherry blossom village with that lake as a focal point – but there is even more to this location than meets the eye at first glance, with a nearby village, some phenomenal caves and even an underground mine in the ridge.

Igloo Seed with Basement at Spawn Point
Igloo Spawn Seed: 8014621782944328921
Important Coordinates:
- Igloo: 168, -136
- Wreck: 5, 126
If you are someone who cares about having a place to lay your head on your first night in Minecraft – and likes finding rare structures – look no further than this Minecraft seed with an igloo at the spawn point. And when we say spawn, we mean spawn – just turn around and this igloo, complete with basement, is only two blocks in front of you.
With a bed, a chest, some food, and even a villager to trade with (once you have emeralds, of course), you start off well with this seed even before you really begin. From here, we recommend heading southwest, whether underground or on the surface, but you will find a loot-ready mine if you travel underground. Then, at x = 5, z = 126, there is a sunken ship just below the water's surface, full of other valuable gear, including a treasure map and Smithing templates.

Seed 1.20 Trails and Tales
Seed of the Cherry Blossom Forest and Archaeology: -4701114812458603382
Important Coordinates:
- Cherry Blossom Forest: 1,500, -170
- Desert Temple: 1,688, 1,112
- Desert Temple 2: 2,071, 1,112
Let's keep digging to find the best seed for the Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update, but this is by far the best we've seen so far. Not far from the spawn point to the east, you'll find a large desert biome (x=1,400, z=700) that houses two Desert Temples for archaeology, as well as a nearby Desert Village to tame your own camel. And that's not all, as there is a relatively large Cherry Blossom Forest biome north of the desert, where you can build a nice house in Minecraft, or just collect some sakura saplings.

Seed for Multiple Desert Temples
Seed for Double Desert Temple: 6379870233718797262
Important Coordinates:
- Desert Temple 1: 168, 232
- Desert Temple 2: -392, 152
- Desert Temple 3: -872, 600
- Desert Temple 4: -1,304, -168
- Village 1: -272, 288
- Village 2: -816, 640
This seed is the perfect location for a Minecraft archaeology dig site. There are four Desert Temples all relatively close to the spawn point, with one about a one-minute walk southeast of spawn, and another the same distance southwest. If you're worried about spawning in a desert without wood, there's a whole jungle right behind the eastern temple. Meanwhile, the western temple, as you can see in the image above, has a village behind it, so you can tame a camel or two as well.

Seed for Double Ancient City
Seed for Double Ancient City: -4289043014354930070
Important Coordinates:
Ancient Cities: 2,103, -5,856
If you're having trouble finding an Ancient City in Survival mode, we're not surprised – they're hard to find. You can use our guide to help you locate one on your adventures, or you can use this seed, found by Redditpeoplebelike and shared on Reddit, and go to coordinates x=2,103, z=-5,856. It's a good walk, but worth it – when you get there, you'll find not one, but two Ancient Cities crushed together, beneath an exposed system of hanging mineshafts. That's very rare loot... as long as you can avoid the terrifying Warden in there.

Ancient City Seed near Spawn Point
Ancient City Seed near Spawn Point: -3675652194237789176
Important Coordinates:
- Cave Entrance: 65, 70
- Ancient City: 168, 24
If the previous Ancient City seed requires a bit more walking than you're willing to do, this one can be found right beneath your feet thanks to the Redditoru/Few_Trainer_180From the spawn point, walk a bit further east (x=65, z=70) to find the entrance to a massive cave system. Descend toward the east, then follow the tunnel under the lava flow toward the west. There is an opening in the ground (x=120, y=-25, z=129) through which you can see the Ancient City. While these underground ruins should keep you busy for a while, this Ancient City seed features more than a dozen other Ancient Cities relatively close to the spawn point. For example, the second easiest is below an opening in the cave in the snowy mountains to the north (x=90, y=150, z=-280).

Desert Village Seed
Desert Village Seed and Camels:4818056236209846150
Important Coordinates:
- Village 1: 48, 160
- Village 2: -256, 336
- Village 3: -336, -480
- Village 4: 0, -320
- Desert Temple 1: 88, 152
- Desert Temple 2: -328, 56
- Desert Temple 3: -328, -248 (

These villages are home to adorable Minecraft camels, perfect for traveling across the vast desert and the Badlands landscape to the north. There are also three desert temples nearby for archaeological exploration and valuable loot, and several ruined portals. If the desert is your favorite biome in Minecraft, this seed is for you.

Easy Diamond Seed
Diamond Seed:3057310577815726585
Important Coordinates:
- Diamond Vein: 90, -31, -250
Digging for diamonds can be a frustrating task, but not if you know the exact location of a 21-block diamond vein, as spotted by the Redditoru/PurelyPog . Although technically it's an 18-block diamond vein plus a second vein of three blocks, it's enormous anyway. To find it, start heading northeast, where you'll find a village in the plains. Stand on the block x=90, z=-250, then dig straight down until you enter a cave at y=-24. Watch out for monsters! After getting rid of them, dig a bit deeper (y=-31) to find the 18-block diamond vein. The second is a few blocks below. As a bonus, you'll find many other types of ore in this area of the cave.
To make this discovery even better, go to a village first and trade for a pickaxe with the Fortune enchantment to get up to four times more diamonds from your loot.

Infinite Mine Seed
Infinite Mine Seed:107038380838084
Important Coordinates:
Mine Intersection: y = 0, z = 8
This is completely impressive. Create a new world in version 1.20 and go underground at the spawn point, or anywhere on the z-axis 8.0 (well, gear up with some essential tools and armor first), and you will find a long mine that spans the world's x-axis. Near the spawn point, it even opens into a lush cave, lighting the way ahead with glowing berries. Think of all those glorious mine chests filled with precious loot... We thank u/Cynix747 for share this amazing discovery on Reddit . Our only advice: try not to get lost.

Beautiful Minecraft Seed

Woodland Mansion Seed
Woodland Mansion Seed: 844424960210770
Important Coordinates:
- Woodland Mansion: 24, 8

In addition, the Mansion is situated right in the middle of a river, with a large cave area nearby and easy access to the ocean. Just be careful when descending from the roof; the west side of the building offers the safest way down.

This amazing witch hut seed from the Minecraft Redditor u/Wasthereonce It does not generate one, not two, not even three, but four witch huts nearby. As a nice bonus, they surround a huge Woodland Mansion. All four huts are near the Mansion (x=500, z=420), so it's best to look for this easy-to-find landmark first, just a one-minute walk south from the original spawn point. Once there, circle the swamp around the giant building to find the witch huts (north, south, and west of the Mansion).

Mooshroom Biome Seed

Traveling to the enormous cavern through the top of an abandoned mine suspended from the ceiling by chains, the vast expanse of the cavern opens beneath you and is the perfect place for an underground metropolis. Not to mention all the precious loot you can find in the Mines.

- Jungle Temple: 150, 150

If you're looking for a Jungle Temple, you'll find one a bit further north as well (x=-150, z=-150). However, the seed's main draw is its beauty; the forest sprawls across small islands and stunning hills, including a particularly epic rock formation northeast of the spawn point. If that's still not green enough for you, you might want to cross the Plains and the Savanna to the west. Once you cross the river, you'll find another great Jungle biome waiting to be explored (x=-1,000, z=0).
